Training of Swachhagrahis on Community-led Total Sanitation in Gorakhpur District , Uttar Pradesh
Under SBM(G), Uttar Pradesh we also conducted two five-day residential Training Programmes for nearly 1500 Swachhagrahis on Community-led Total Sanitation in District Gorakhpur in U.P. during February 2018. To bring about behavioral change amongst the community, village meeting was organised where all villagers were taught about need for using toilets.
Mapping of the village was done to show them where the toilet existed and places where they go for defecation in the morning. This helped sensitize them towards stopping open-defecation. Triggering were organised by us in six Gram Panchayat of Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh.
The trained people have all been engaged in the field, working towards achieving open defecation -free (ODF) environment .
